How to roll back to windows phone 8.1 from windows 10

If you are facing any issues with your windows phone 10 OS or windows 10 mobile insider preview builds or you want to roll back to windows phone 8.1 you can follow the steps below.

Following are the requirements needed for rollback process:
  1. WDRT(Windows Device Recovery Tool) software. More info about WDRT can be found here Windows Device Recovery Tool: FAQ
  2. A windows laptop or PC 
  3. A USB cable and
  4. A high-speed internet connection
Also, the phone should have the battery charged up to 50% or more. Now download and install the WDRT on your windows PC or laptop. Now follow the steps described below:
  1. Launch the WDRT on your PC or laptop and connect your phone to the PC via a USB cable. Select your phone from the software if it is listed. Otherwise, select 'My Phone Is Not Detected to force the system to detect your phone.
  2. Once your phone is selected, WDRT will show the device information and available software for your phone. Click on 'Install software'.
  3. There will be a notification to take a back-up. Make sure to back your files up. Click on 'Continue' to move to next step.
  4. Take the optional survey about why you are rolling back to windows phone 8.1
  5. Download and Install
After the tool completes the install process you will get a message "Operation successfully completed."
